KATHLEEN (KAT) HOWCROFT, M.Sc.
Kat (she/her) is a Ph.D. student with our group. Co-supervised by Dr. Melissa Kimber, her thesis research in the Health Research Methodology Program is focused on how healthcare providers are educated to meet the unique needs of women with chronic illnesses, such as chronic kidney disease. She is particularly interested in addressing gaps in health science education related to sex and gender and the psychosocial impact of chronic illness. Kat recently completed her M.Sc. in Health Science Education and holds an undergraduate degree in Psychology, Neuroscience & Behaviour with a minor in Gender Studies, both from McMaster University.
REBECCA MADAN, B.Arts.Sc.
Rebecca (she/her) is a Master’s student with our group. Co-supervised with Dr. Sandra Monteiro, her project is focused on exploring practical strategies for the detection of harmful stereotypes and biases. Rebecca completed her undergraduate degree in the Arts and Science Program at McMaster University.
SIMRAN DHAMI, B.Sc.
Simran (she/her) is a research assistant with our group. She is assisting with various medical education research projects, including a scoping review on artificial intelligence-based feedback for surgical learners, a human-surgical robot interaction study, and a virtual reality training evaluation study. Simran completed her undergraduate degree in the Biology and Psychology, Neuroscience & Behaviour Program at McMaster University.

Aisling (she/her) is a research assistant with our group. She is assisting with various medical education research projects. Aisling completed her undergraduate degree in the Bachelor of Health Sciences Program at Queen’s University.
EMILY MATSUMOTO
Emily (she/her) is a research assistant with our group. She is assisting with various medical education research projects, including a scoping review on artificial intelligence-based feedback for surgical learners and a project focused on understanding undergraduate medical students’ experiences in applying to medical school. Emily is an undergraduate student in the Bachelor of Health Sciences Program at Queen’s University.

Rida (she/her) is a Research Assistant with our group. Her project is focused on understanding the well-being-related impacts of preparing for and applying to medical school. Rida is a recent graduate of the Psychology, Neuroscience & Behaviour Program at McMaster University.

Mariah (she/her) is a Medical Student Researcher with our group. She assists with various educational research projects. Mariah completed her undergraduate degree in the Bachelor of Health Sciences Program at Queen’s University.
AKSHARAA RAY
Aksharaa (she/her) is an undergraduate thesis student with our group. Her project is focused on investigating university instructors’ observations and experiences regarding the impact of student smartphone use on mental health and academic performance, the barriers this creates in classrooms, and the strategies instructors employ to address these challenges while promoting student well-being. Aksharaa is is an undergraduate student in the Psychology, Neuroscience & Behaviour program at McMaster University.

Dalia (she/her) is an undergraduate thesis student with our group. Her project is focused on exploring the role of patient and physician gender in patient engagement, with a specific interest in the primary care setting. Dalia is an undergraduate student in the Biology and Psychology, Neuroscience & Behaviour program at McMaster University.
